## Permanent Indication Area

The **permanent indication area** displays the ECDIS status:

- **AIS** (on/off, filtering conditions)
- **Sound** status
- Set **water level** above chart datum
- Target CPA criteria
- Settings indication

Navigational hazard monitoring is performed in the ship's **track lane**, regardless of whether hazard highlighting on the ENC is enabled or disabled. Warnings and alarms are generated for navigational hazards within the ship's **track lane**.

#### Scale Operation Modes

| № | Element | Description |
|---|---------|----------|
| 1 | **Best Scale** | Automatic selection of a larger scale chart under the ship's position. A larger scale cell will be forcibly loaded and displayed. |
| 2 | **Fix Scale** | Fixes the scale of the displayed cell, and when the **ENC** scale changes in the main chart window, the fixed scale range will be displayed permanently. The function can also be enabled with the keyboard shortcut: {{Key_Alt}} {{Key_A}} |
| 3 | **Scale levels list** | List of ENC scale levels available at the ship's position. |
