Creating a Backup
→
→ System → Backup → Create Backup

Backup creation is accompanied by a progress indicator.
Important
Backup creation time depends on the ENC collection size, route collection, volume of manual corrections and user chart, and may take a significant amount of time.
Note
The backup creation process runs in the background and does not restrict the navigator from performing ECDIS operational tasks.
Restoring from a Backup
→
→ System → Backup → ![]()
Important
When restoring, all previously installed charts, certificates, routes, settings, manual corrections, and user objects will be replaced with data from the backup.

Note
Restoring a backup requires a subsequent ECDIS reboot.
Important
Restoring a backup may take a significant amount of time depending on the volume of previously saved data. The backup restoration speed also depends on the USB port class and USB medium.
Managing Backups
Number of Copies
The number of backups is determined by the ECDIS hard disk capacity
Deleting Old Copies
With long-term storage, backup data becomes outdated
It is advisable to forcibly delete old backups
Tip
It is recommended to regularly create backups before important updates or system changes.
Tip
It is recommended to store ECDIS backups on external storage media.
