Password Input

To perform a number of operations — entering registration data, creating and configuring navigational sensors, setting vessel dimensions — elevated privileges are required. To obtain elevated privileges, a password must be entered.

After entering the password, the operator receives elevated privileges.

Important

Elevated privileges are valid for 10 minutes. The time remaining until the expiration of elevated privileges is displayed in the permanent indication area.

To view the entered password, press the button next to the input field.

After entering the password, the status is displayed to the right of the field:

• — password accepted (correct)

• — password rejected (incorrect)

Password input procedure

1. Position the cursor in the password input field

2. Enter the password using the keyboard

3. If necessary, activate the display button to monitor the input

4. Confirm the input by pressing Enter or the corresponding interface button

5. Check the indication of the result

Default password

Important

Default password: Locnav=8 After commissioning the ECDIS, the password must be changed using the “System Information” settings section.

Important

The password must not contain:

• meaningful words or phrases

• significant numbers (dates, phone numbers, product serial numbers)

• simple passwords: for example, qwerty, 12345, 111111

The password must contain:

• uppercase and lowercase letters

• digits

• special characters

The password length must not be less than 8 characters

Warning

Security recommendations:

• Change the password regularly

• Use complex passwords (letters, digits, symbols)

• Do not use the default password in a production environment
