Important
Any operations related to ENCs (installation or removal of Scheme Administrator certificates, ENC cell permits, installation of ENC cells or updates to cells, removal of ENC data sets) are only possible with Master privileges. In BackUp mode, ENC operations are unavailable.
Tip
When installing open (unencrypted) charts, prior installation of the root certificate and ENC licenses is not required.
Installing/Removing Scheme Administrator Certificates
Installing certificates:
Insert the USB medium with the data sets into the ECDIS USB port
Menu path
→
→ Certificates → Find Certificates → Install

Upon successful installation, a notification “Certificate installed successfully” will appear at the bottom of the panel
The certificate status will change to “Installed”
Return to the ENC Collection — press Back
Note
The installation result is added to the Installation Log.
Tip
The list of installed certificates can be viewed in the settings on the tab Certificates/Permits.

Upon successful installation, a notification will appear at the bottom of the panel

Note
If errors occur, the log will indicate errors in accordance with IHO S-63 (see section 5.7). The navigator should review the error and act in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
Important
ECDIS supports installation of ENC cell permits packaged in a zip archive separately or within a Dataset zip archive.
Installation of ENC cell permits from nested second-level archives is not performed. To install ENC cell permits, the nested files must be extracted first.
Tip
License management recommendations:
When receiving an update set for cells already installed in ECDIS, it is not recommended to reinstall the cell permits. Repeated installation of permits for the same cells will significantly slow down the ENC installation process and may eventually make it impossible to decrypt the cells.
If the error **”SSE 21”** occurs, it is recommended to delete the ENC permits from ECDIS, reinstall the ENC permits, and retry the ENC cell installation.
Removing licenses:
Menu path |
|---|
|
Warning
When licenses are removed, the corresponding ENC cells will become unavailable for display and updates cannot be applied to them.
