Installing Updates

Update sets are provided by the data provider (data server). ECDIS treats update files as cells, and the installation procedure in ECDIS is identical to the **chart installation** procedure.

Update installation procedure:

1. Insert the USB medium with the data set into the ECDIS USB port

2. Menu path
   → → ENC → Find ENC → Select → Install

3. In the dialog, select from the drop-down list the name of the set into which the updates should be installed

Important

Updates can only be installed into the set for which they were issued. For example: if cells are installed in the IHO set, then updates issued for those cells must be installed into the IHO set.

Attempting to install updates into a different set will result in the installation being refused.

4. Press Install.

5. The installation result will be displayed as a notification at the bottom of the window and recorded in the Installation Log

The update installation result is recorded in the Installation Log, and information about installed updates is updated in the ENC Collection (Data Set).

Viewing Corrections

ECDIS maintains a log of installed and applied update sets for ENCs. Corrections are viewed through the Chart Collection (Data Set).

For cells that have corrections, a button in the form of an ellipsis [...] will be displayed. In the chart collection panel, the cell also shows the last applied update number (Update No) and update date (Update Date) — the date of the last installed correction.

Viewing changes in a cell:

Menu path
→ → ENC → Data Set → Select → ...

A list of corrections for the selected cell will open.

8	Show/Hide	Press to rebuild the ENC, display and highlight correction objects of the issue on the ENC. Pressing again removes the highlighting.
