Purpose and Scope

The software of the electronic chart display and information system (NSR ECDIS NES-3000) is designed for:

• Voyage planning

• Calculation and display of current voyage parameters relative to planned values

• Generation of messages, warnings and alarms when conditions specified by ECDIS standards are met

• Analysis of completed voyages

• Collection management of electronic navigational charts (ENC)

• Operation as part of an integrated navigational bridge system
