Chart Display

The chart display is the main area of the ECDIS interface where electronic navigational charts and associated navigation elements are shown.

Chart Display Elements

1	North direction indicator	Indicates the direction to geographic north, in accordance with the set ENC orientation
2	Current scale indicator	Displays the current chart scale. Pressing it opens the list of available scale levels
3	Off-scale indicator	Off-scale indicator, moved to the top of the chart display
4	Scale bar	Graphical representation of the current ENC scale
5	Own ship symbol	Own ship position
6	Ship’s track	Ship’s past track
7	Route	Planned route
8	Route graph (annotated route)	Detailed route representation with additional information
9	ENC	Electronic Navigational Chart data
10	ARPA target	Targets transmitted from the radar
11	AIS target	Targets received from AIS
