Network

Important

Network connection and bridge equipment configuration must be performed by a qualified service engineer.

Connection Permission

Menu Path

MenuSettings → System → Network → Connection permission

Create rules that permit external connections.

ECDIS can operate as a standalone unit or as part of a bridge system (within the bridge’s internal secure network). Implementing the requirements of IEC 61162-460, ECDIS allows external connections to the workstation from an external network directly.

Caution

Connections are only permitted to trusted external uncontrolled networks or to controlled networks.

Since the firewall blocks all connections by default, establishing a connection requires creating an individual connection rule that applies to a single source.

Element

Description

1

Rule list

List of rules describing connections to external networks.

2

Add rule

Add a rule.

Create a New Rule

  1. Press “Add rule”.

  2. Fill in the form.

Element

Description

1

Rule name

Rule name.

2

IP

ECDIS IP address (network card).

3

Port

Port to open.

4

Protocol

Connection protocol.

5

Cancel

Cancel rule creation.

6

Add

Add the rule.

  1. The new rule will appear in the rule list.

Element

Description

1

Selector

Enable/Disable the rule.

2

Delete

Delete the selected rule.

3

Connection indicator

Connection indicator: flashing yellow — external connection is enabled but no external connection is present; steady yellow — external connection is established.

  1. The created rule is not enabled after creation.

  2. Enable the rule.

  3. The connection indicator flashes yellow.

Attention

External connections are time-limited: no more than 1 hour. After the specified time, the connection will be forcibly terminated.

Delete a Rule

  1. Select the rule to delete

  2. Press Delete

  3. Confirm the deletion

Network Connection

Menu Path

MenuSettings → System → Network → Network connection

Configuration of network connections — ECDIS network cards are configured here.

ECDIS can operate in two bridge networks simultaneously, providing redundant connections to the bridge system and sensors — primary and backup.

Element

Description

1

Network connections

List of network connections.

2

Add

Add a new network connection.

3

Delete

Delete a network connection.

4

Settings

Configure a network connection.

Error

Any operations with network settings: creation, configuration, deletion, or modification must be performed by a qualified user.

Making changes to the network configuration without proper qualifications may render the ECDIS inoperable.

Error

Network connection settings must be performed by a qualified user.

Making changes to the network configuration without proper qualifications may render the ECDIS inoperable.

  1. Select the connection type

  2. Configure the network connection in accordance with the bridge network architecture.

  3. Save

Tip

ECDIS can operate simultaneously with multiple connections in different networks.

Caution

ECDIS does not support **WiFi** interfaces. When any WiFi device is connected, ECDIS will not recognize it and will not support further operation.

IPv4 Configuration and Connection

  1. Configure settings on the IPv4 tab.

  2. If the network has a DHCP server, select the DHCP connection method and press Save.

  3. If the network uses static addressing, switch the mode to Static and configure: Gateway, DNS, IP, and subnet mask. Add a device IP address — press “+”. The “−” button deletes the selected IP address from the list. Set the connection parameters in accordance with the local network settings and press Save.

  4. After saving, the connection data will be updated.

  5. Go to the Network devices tab and press Connect in the row of the new device.

  6. Select the created connection from the drop-down list and press Connect.

  7. If the connection is successful, the interface list will update to show (“ Connected”).
