Remote Assistant
To perform ECDIS maintenance remotely by the ECDIS manufacturer, a VPN connection is provided.
In accordance with cybersecurity requirements (IEC 61162-460), the connection is established only with the navigator’s permission.
The ECDIS manufacturer connects to the ECDIS as a remote desktop and gains access to all functions and settings of the ECDIS equipment.

Do not interfere or attempt to take over control of the device. This will impede the work.
Important
During service maintenance, it is recommended to transfer the Master function to another station.
Danger
Plan ECDIS service maintenance for when the vessel is in port.
Performing service maintenance while underway is only permitted in exceptional circumstances that may adversely affect navigational safety.
