Use SENC Builder to convert S-57/S-63 data to a SENC database. SENC Builder can be used both for creating a SENC database from S-57/S-63 data and for updating an existing SENC database with S-57/S-63 updates.

The SENC Builder component analyzes existing data (existing SENC and S-57/S-63 data) and defines if a new SENC database should be created, or the existing SENC should be updated.

Description

First step is to pass to SENC Builder path to the existing SENC, path to S-57 data including cell data and updates, and S-63 parameters including the PERMIT.TXT file and HW_ID. Then SENC builder analyses the provided data, verifies data signatures, updates the S-57/S-63 storage, creates a temporary CATALOG.031 file containing updated data, and runs the S-57 to SENC Converter with the temporary CATALOG.031 as parameter. The S-57 to SENC Converter creates updated SENC files and passes them back to SENC Builder. SENC Builder analyses the files and runs SENC Maker with optimized parameters. The optimized parameters define whether to update an existing SENC or to create a new one.
